J. Miller Studio

One of a kind. Signed. Yours.

Every original from J. Miller Studio is a single painting, not a print run. This page covers what to expect from inquiry through delivery.

  1. Inquire to confirm availability

Use the inquiry form on the artwork page to express interest. Jeff confirms availability piece by piece, since a painting can only go to one home. If the piece is already reserved or sold, the studio will let you know and can flag you for upcoming work in the same vein.

  2. Framing preference

You can note a framing preference in your inquiry. Options range from unframed (no added frame cost, ships most safely) to a simple ready-made floater, a custom studio floater in solid hardwood, or a full heirloom frame arranged with a premium framer. Framing estimates are discussed and confirmed before any invoice is issued.

  3. Manual invoice

Once availability and framing are confirmed, Jeff sends a manual invoice. Payment is handled off-site by invoice, not through this website. Applicable tax is handled on the invoice where required. No payment information is collected or stored here.

  4. What you receive

The original painting, signed by Jeff Miller. A J. Miller Studio Certificate of Authenticity documenting the piece. An artwork verso label affixed to the back of the canvas or panel. Framing as agreed. The studio keeps a provenance record of every original.

  5. Shipping and packaging

Originals ship insured in protective packaging appropriate to the piece and framing. Domestic and international shipping is available; lead time and costs are confirmed before the invoice. Heirloom frames may ship freight or be arranged locally with the buyer.

Framing tiers

All frame costs are estimates. Final framing cost is confirmed before any invoice is issued.

  • Unframed, no added frame cost

The painting as confirmed for the listing. Display and framing details are confirmed before invoice. Ships most safely and many collectors prefer it.

  • Simple frame, about $50 to $150 added

A ready-made floater frame in basic wood or composite, standard finish in black, natural, or white. Tidy on a budget.

  • Studio frame, about $150 to $400 added (recommended)

A custom-cut solid hardwood floater in maple, walnut, or black with a gold lip, sized exactly to the canvas with a hand finish. The proportionate choice for most original pieces.

  • Heirloom frame, about $400 to $1,000 and up

A closed-corner or hand-finished solid hardwood frame, gold-leaf or artisan hand-rubbed, in a classic museum profile. Arranged with a premium or artisan framer. Well suited to sporting and wildlife work. Can exceed the painting cost; arranged directly with the buyer.

A few honest notes

  • Availability is confirmed before any invoice, so you will not be invoiced for a piece that is no longer available.
  • Payment is by manual invoice off-site. No payment is collected through this website.
  • If a piece does not arrive as described, contact the studio. Final details on returns and satisfaction are confirmed in writing before any invoice is issued.
  • Applicable tax is handled on the invoice where required by law.
